In a fantastic development for the economic fortunes and general attraction of North Cyprus, governmental permission has been granted for the development of a 543 berth yacht marina to the east of the pretty harbour town of Kyrenia, and construction and development of the Mediterranean Port Cyprium Marina in Esentepe North Cyprus is due to begin later this year.

There has been talk about a modern day yacht marina being developed around the protected site of the ancient breakwater and marina site in Kucuk Erenkoy near Esentepe in North Cyprus for a number of years.
