Summary: A look at the town of Larnaca in Cyprus and what it has to offer a potential property investor

Is Larnaca a Good Place for Investment Property in Cyprus? For some strange reason Larnaca has been heavily overlooked by all those seeking the best investment property returns in Cyprus in the recent past.  Many people were happily flying in and out of the efficient and ever expending and improving international airport at Larnaca, but they were not stopping by and seeing the town and all it has to offer in their bid to get to the best property bargains in Protaris in the east or Paphos in the west…

So is Larnaca a good place for investment property in Cyprus?  You bet it is and it’s just about to get even more exciting as there are apparently plans afoot to turn Larnaca into the next golfing paradise in Cyprus.

The thing with Larnaca is that it has been overlooked not just by property purchasers, but by local investors as well - and until recently little money had gone into the improvement of the area.  Now things are changing very fast.  For one thing the main beachfront strip in the town has been vastly improved – on the one side of the road you have a wealth of lovely restaurants, tavernas, pretty shops and interesting places for tourists to visit – and on the other side of the calmed down, slow moving, reduced traffic road is the famous Larnaca sandy beach.

The beach is public, clean and pristine, you can sunbathe, laze in the warm waters of the Mediterranean or even catch a boat ride, learn to dive or go swimming.  In the night time the main town is buzzing with life and activity from early until very late and nowadays Larnaca is a happening town alright!

To get to the town you fly into the aforementioned excellent airport which has already had its car parking improved and which is now benefiting from the development of significant swathes of land to provide more landing strips.  Larnaca airport is about to get a lot busier!

The roads in and around the town have already had a lot of money spent on them and as an outside observer you might begin to wonder why so much is being ploughed into this corner of Cyprus…well it’s because it’s about to become the next investment property hotspot that’s why!  After the runaway and as yet unparalleled success of the Aphrodite Hills resort near Paphos, a similarly luxurious golfing, hotel and residential development is apparently in the planning stages in Larnaca.

Property prices in Larnaca are generally far cheaper than in Paphos or Limassol for example and if this golf resort combines with a greater capacity airport, it’s unlikely prices will remain below those in the other main property hotspots in Cyprus – so, is Larnaca a good place for investment property in Cyprus?  I think you’ll agree it might just be!
