Invest in Golf Property in Spain QuicklyAccording to extensive research conducted by Kyero.com, the number one Spanish property portal, if you’re a golfing enthusiast and you’ve your heart set on a home within a course complex or resort, you need to invest in golf property in Spain quickly before there are no more properties available!

Whilst the situation isn’t quite as dramatic as it sounds just yet, there is massive pressure being applied to developers of golf courses and the planning authorities in Spain to prevent the extensive environmental damage that the construction of new courses can create.  This will of course make golf property in Spain of greater value if the environmental lobbyists get their way and prevent future construction of courses and properties, and this may mean someone looking for a decent long term investment strategy for Spanish property could target this particular type of real estate and buy now, rent tomorrow and hold for the long term for maximum capital appreciation.

The main problem with the development of newer, better, bigger and more lush golf courses in Spain to cater to the almost insatiable demand from the rapidly developing golf tourism market is water…or rather the lack of it.  In Andalusia where there has now been a drought for four consecutive years, the golfing heart of Spain beats loudest.  This is where the most intense golf tourism focus is in the whole of Spain and it is also where the water crisis affecting parts of the Mediterranean region is just about at its worst as well.  And golf courses aren’t that green and lush without a significant amount of water as you can imagine.

In fact, according to The World Wide Fund for Nature each average golf course uses up as much water as a medium sized town with about 12,000 inhabitants – naturally this means the demand from golf courses already in existence is already damaging the environment.  Clearly there is so much to support lobbying against the further development of golfing resorts in Spain that the authorities cannot choose to overlook the facts for very much longer.

Water is not the only problem though – many people feel golf courses are just an excuse nowadays for the construction of more and more property in Spain.  It’s not only the golfing fraternity who dream of a home within reach of the greens – those who are aware of how overdeveloped parts of their beloved Spain are becoming are opting for golf based properties because they know they will have a view of lush green landscapes from their windows rather than ever more homes, a motorway or perhaps even a high rise.

We can clearly understand the appeal for golf property in Spain – it is undeniable in fact.  But at the same time it would be ignorant and shortsighted to try and ignore or downplay the very real environmental issues that the creation of massive golf courses and residential real estate developments causes.  So all we can suggest is that if you want golf property in Spain that you invest quickly…because we are behind the environmentalists on this one and we hope that developers will be stopped in their tracks from destroying the landscape and natural bio-environs of southern Spain.
