For Affordable Portuguese Property Move to Spain! Are you a golf lover, do you love the stunning Atlantic Sea coastline, are you attracted to wide sandy beaches which are not over crowded in the summer and do you long for a home on the Algarve in Portugal?  But what about those property prices?  As the most expensive region of Portugal, the Algarve, however stunning, is out of reach for many people – and so for affordable Portuguese property may we suggest you move to Spain!

No, we haven’t gone crazy...there’s a hidden corner of the Spanish mainland that shares so many traits with Portugal’s fabulous Algarve region, but the one overriding benefit this region offers is affordable property prices.  The province is called Huelva and in this article we’ll examine its appeal.

We’ve mentioned the Huelva Province before because of its attractive property prices – but now we’re mentioning it again because certain factors have conspired to mean the entire region is about to witness a property price explosion - potentially!

Huelva’s current air accessibility is either via Faro in Portugal or Seville in Spain and it means at least an hour’s transfer to the town, villages and coast of Huelva.  Hardly ideal or likely to push property prices up.  But news released earlier this month that a deal has been struck and the province’s current basic landing strip for internal flights is going to be transformed into an international airport within about 4 years, is likely to have a relatively strong and positive effect on real estate prices.

So what is it about Huelva that makes it attractive?

Well – for those who were hoping for a property in Portugal and in particular on the Algarve, Huelva is accessible to this region, it has its own golf courses where a round will cost you about GBP 20 as opposed to about GBP 150 which you’ll pay on Portugal’s best courses, Huelva is on the Atlantic too and has massive, wide, white sandy beaches which are largely untouched.  In the summer the region is popular with the Spanish, but out of season it is so quite.  Prices start from GBP 38,000 for a fairly basic apartment and barely go up into the hundred thousand region for well appointed villa property.

If you’re looking for an unspoilt side of Spain and had thought that maybe living in quieter, less ‘Englishified’ Portugal was the answer, maybe you should revisit Spain and think about living and property in Spain‘s Huelva province?
