Costa del Sol Favourite Spanish Property Hotspot

Costa del Sol Favourite Spanish Property HotspotThanks to a brand new search facility available exclusively at Kyero.com which is the largest English language Spanish property portal, it’s now possible to search specifically for coastal Spanish property and find the most in demand locations or the property nearest the coast that most suits a buyer’s budget.

As a result of this new search feature, the MD of Kyero.com has revealed that the Costa del Sol is the favourite Spanish property hotspot – in terms of searches received it is in joint first position with the Costa Blanca and combined, these two Spanish property hotspots took almost a half of all searches among potential purchasers in September.

The brand new Spanish coastal property search facility on the property portal has proved highly popular since its inclusion because the majority of investors, retirees, expatriates and second home hunters looking for Spanish property desire homes as close to the coast and seaside as possible.  However it’s not just proximity to a beach that drives the location choices of potential purchasers…the issues of property price, climate and accessibility dictate a location’s popularity as well.

Analysis of site searcher activity unsurprisingly reveals that combined together, the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca account for 42% of potential buyer interest and that these are the most popular locations in Spain for potential property purchasers by far.

Despite the media taking a less than favourable view of the prospects of the property markets in these locations of late and property prices actually stagnating in some of these most popular parts of Spain recently, Kyero.com’s findings actually suggest that the markets in these locations bottomed out towards the end of last year and that buyers are now targeting developers who are discounting their properties in order to bolster their cash-flow.

As a result, both the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca proved their evergreen appeal by ticking each of the location, price, climate and accessibility boxes and therefore they received 21% each of site searcher activity last month and achieved joint first position in terms of popularity.

Additional evidence to support the claims that climate and accessibility are of importance for potential property buyers in Spain was presented by Martin Dell, MD of Kyero.com, he commented that: “the importance of climate and accessibility becomes evident when you consider that property prices are far more favourable in Costa Verde in Cantabria in Spain than in either the Costa del Sol or the Costa Blanca for example - and yet this is the least favoured coastal region of Spain among Kyero.com readers because the location’s climate is more akin to the British climate and it is not yet serviced by the low cost carriers.”

Finally, further evidence if it were required to back up the findings of Kyero.com relating to the fact that buyers seek the perfect combination of accessible coastal property in a sunny location in Spain is the news that Rias Altas in Coruna proves more favourable than either the previously popular Spanish coastal hotspots of Costa Brava and Costa de la Luz thanks to the perfect combination of the Ryanair effect and the highly attractive property prices available for seaside and coastal properties in this region.  Overall, Rias Altas takes the number 7 spot in the coastal property index from Kyero.com receiving a 5% share of site searcher activity.
