Buying Turkish Property on Bodrum PeninsulaWhilst the town of Bodrum has long been favoured by jetsetters and holidaymakers as a hot destination on Turkey’s Aegean coast, Brits wanting to buy property in Turkey are finding new jewels within the region.  The entire Bodrum peninsula is now under a microscope as potential investors see the possibilities the region has to offer.

The Bodrum peninsula is dotted with resort towns and small fishing villages.  Each is starting to attract its fair share of holidaymakers and investors.  This is especially the case as more new construction moves into the area.  Off-plan potential is found in just about every town on the peninsula.  Considering the region’s legendary tourist attractions, temperate climate and whitewashed fishing villages, the charming appeal that Bodrum offers is hard to deny.

Whilst the resort town of Bodrum is noted for its bustling tourist industry and lively nightlife, other villages along the peninsula also offer a variety of attractions.  Cities and villages throughout the peninsula are presently experiencing growth as foreign buyers take notice.  From Gumbet and Bitez to Ortakent and Turgutreis, this Turkish peninsula is becoming a favourite among buyers of Turkish property.

Holidaymakers coming to the region find the peninsula provides them with a great deal more to see than just picturesque villages and incredible Aegean waters and beaches.  Bodrum is noted as the home of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world – the Halicarnassos Mausoleum.  Although in ruins it is still a popular attraction.  The Castle of St. Peter, the Bodrum Amphitheatre, museums and other relics of antiquity also call to holidaymakers.  In addition, visitors in the region find the Greek island of Kos is within close proximity and that the waters off the peninsula provide some incredible diving opportunities.

Investors interested in second homes, buy-to-let properties and even resale potential are finding the peninsula is very attractive.  With natural holidaymaking draws, an airport nearby and an already developed tourism industry, the potential here is considered very high indeed.  Properties under development along the peninsula also offer very low buy-in prices; off-plan flats are starting under GBP 35,000 in many of the towns and villages outside of Bodrum itself.

Whilst the throngs of people in Istanbul appeal to some buyers, others are finding the laidback atmosphere along the Bodrum peninsula is more to their liking.  As more investors and holidaymakers alike discover the region, its growth is likely to continue on an upward climb.
