This article updates any and all other previous articles, posts and information published on this website pertaining to US citizens and their financial freedom opportunities.
In this article we will endeavor to explain why US citizens can’t go offshore and why we cannot assist any of our American readers and friends by passing their enquires and requests for direct assistance to our strategic partners.
Dear US Friends and Readers of ShelterOffshore.com,
With regret we have to inform you that as a result of the enforcement and far reaching consequences of the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001 – also known as ‘The Patriot Act’ – we cannot assist you if you complete our offshore enquiry form.
We cannot pass your details to any of our strategic partners who deal with offshore banking, company formation or asset protection for example and furthermore, we have to advise you that any and all information contained within this website that discusses and highlights the benefits of going offshore should not be considered applicable to your situation.
While it remains the case that the majority of citizens in the world have the right to the flexibility and privacy that the offshore world offers, according to legal advice that we have taken it is not even sufficient that US citizens sign legal disclaimers advising any of our strategic partners giving them international financial advice that they will inform their taxation authority of any and all actions they undertake to move money offshore.
It is simply not safe for advisers to give information or assistance to US citizens because The Patriot Act could deem their legitimate actions illegal and they could be prosecuted.
Furthermore, although we are merely publishers of independent information and we are not qualified tax or financial advisers and any information we impart does not constitute advice, we wish to categorically state that any information we do give cannot be considered applicable to US citizens.
As we understand it the United States taxation authorities have the absolute right to taxation on the income and gains that American citizens earn and generate no matter where in the world they reside and/or have assets or income and any queries should be directed to the IRS.
Yours sincerely,
Your ShelterOffshore Team
