Summary: This final section of the "where in the world" series discusses the few remaining general considerations you need to have in mind when scanning the atlas for your ideal country!

Do you want lush tropical plants round you and the beautiful sunshine that goes with?

What about the rainy season needed to water the lush plants and keep your dream destination from turning into a desert?

Are you prepared for all that the weather can throw at you in your new overseas location of choice?

Consider visiting in the good season and the not so good seasons to find out what you are potentially letting yourself in for!

History

Historically how has the country that you are thinking about as your dream overseas destination behaved?  Are they a war mongerer, are they an aggressor?  Are they kind to and respectful of the indigenous people, foreigners, tourists and neighbours?

History can sometimes be an excellent indicator of the future!

Alternatively, this point may be totally irrelevant!  Alternatively again, this point could relate to the potential of a country you are considering - potential in terms of ethnic diversity, cultural wealth, beauty, majesty and mystery.

Ease of relocation

Is this point of importance to you?  Do you want to establish a home from home overseas?  Is it important that you get to watch all your favourite TV programs and eat all your favourite foods from ‘back home’?

Are you hoping to take your furniture, house plants, dog, cat, pet fish and auntie Margie with you when you move overseas?  If so, how easy is it going to be to relocate all that you need to relocate?

And once you have settled into your new home, how easy is it going to be to sustain the lifestyle you want to maintain and how costly?

Alternatively, if you are happy to hop on a boat and sail away with nothing but a rucksack on your back then ease of relocation may be a point you choose to cross off your consideration list!
