Sales Jobs in DubaiIf you look on any of the major recruitment sites for jobs in Dubai it’s immediately clear that when it comes to sales jobs in Dubai, there is still high staffing demand.

Whilst there have been a number of reports in the media about job opportunities in the emirate drying up, there are certainly certain employment sectors where there are still plenty of vacancies – and sales is one of those sectors.

If you have what it takes to sell even in a falling market when credit is tight and buyers are totally unprepared to pay full price for anything, if you’re after a challenge and a tax-free salary and commission benefits, perhaps Dubai is the place where you should be looking for your next sales assignment?

From account managers to sales representatives, from sales and marketing executives to telemarketers, many businesses operating in Dubai require staff to advance their business.  The financial services industry in Dubai for example is very keen to recruit those who are prepared to work on commission and sell anything and everything from insurance products to expatriates, to investment schemes to the affluent saver.

At the same time, the retail industry in Dubai is expanding.  New malls are being completed and new units are being rented out or bought every single week.  Yes it’s true that money is getting tighter in Dubai and the city’s residents are getting a little more reluctant to part with their cash – but then Dubai is a shopping Mecca to which international citizens travel specifically for the shopping experience.  At the time of writing the 2009 Dubai Shopping Festival extravaganza is about to get underway, and visitor numbers are expected to be very strong indeed!  What this means is that if you have a proven track record in retail sales, you will be in with a chance of finding employment in Dubai.

Other areas where sales staff are required at all levels include the property industry – although as the volume of sales has dropped, so staffing levels have been cut.  That said, there are vacancies appearing on a regular basis as the natural turnover of expatriate staff continues and vacancies open up.  The main property developers in Dubai are very well established and cash rich, and they are going to continue selling their developments even if they have to do so at a slower rate and perhaps a reduced price.

Again, those with a proven track record in sales, who are hungry for business, dynamic, energetic and who work well as part of a team yet who can operate and think on an individual basis, will be best placed to secure any sales jobs in Dubai that are advertised.

Alternative openings for interested sales staff exist in the likes of the IT industry where Dubai is expanding.  IT solutions sales staff are in demand as certain key infrastructure and solutions companies soak up all the business going as new companies establish their tax free operations in Dubai monthly.  There are also sales jobs going in the hospitality industry – hotels and holiday companies need staff to sell trips and excursions, spas need therapists and receptionists to sell treatments for example.  Manufacturing companies certainly need sales staff to promote and sell their wares locally as well as nationally and perhaps internationally too…

As stated, if you look on the major recruitment sites for the emirate such as JobsInDubai.com you will see that there are far more sales jobs in Dubai that are advertised than there are any other types of jobs in any employment sector.  Businesses have to sell and promote their services and goods if they want to survive, thrive and expand – and even in this tough economic climate a company knows that the bottom line it has to cover is sales.

If you’re currently thinking about getting out of the UK or Europe to beat the ongoing gloom of winter and the impending recession, a relocation to Dubai could be just what the doctor ordered.  The emirate offers those in good employment positions a fantastic quality of life and standard of living, and with vacancies in abundance at the moment for sales jobs, why not take a closer look at what’s on offer.
