Summary: Spain is the best place to live in Europe for quality of life reasons and Britain comes next to last!

It’s Official: For Quality of Life Move to SpainIf you’ve been contemplating a move to Spain and were wondering if you could really justify it to your friends and family, or if you were just looking for one more reason to quit the UK, it comes in the form of a quality of life survey from uSwitch.com.

uSwitch.com examined the major European nations to determine which offered its citizens the best quality of life, and it seems that now it is 100% official: for quality of life, move to Spain because it tops all other nations in Europe in everything from the numbers of hours of sunshine the nation enjoys, to the number of days holiday those living in Spain get to enjoy annually.

Let us apologise in advance for what we are about to tell you because it might just depress you.  If you’ve opened a single newspaper or switched on a single news programme in the past month or so you can’t have failed to notice the wall-to-wall negativity being spouted about the state of the UK economy.  Well, to add to all this doom and gloom we have one thing to say – in the uSwitch.com survey Britain came second to last, just above Ireland!  Britain has higher than European average gas, electricity and petrol prices, it has fewer days holiday, fewer hours sunshine, we die younger, have less invested in our health and education and emigration has risen 30% since 2001.

If you needed any more evidence to prove that the UK is not the place to be, we just found it for you in the form of the uSwitch.com survey – but, instead of just spouting doom and gloom we have the solution for you.  Move to Spain!

As stated Spain came out in the number one position because it is a sunny country, because its citizens enjoy shorter working hours and more days holiday, because energy and lifestyle costs are lower, because the government invests into education and healthcare, because the average age at which people die is higher than in most of Europe and because overall, living in Spain ensures you have a better quality of life!  Do you need more proof that Spain is the place to be?

Well, if you do how about this, one of Spain’s leading property companies has gone into voluntary liquidation and the property market is in pretty dire straits – bad news if you’re trying to sell a home in Spain right now but fantastically fabulous news if you want to buy one!  You have so much well priced stock to choose from and it truly is a buyer’s market, therefore you can haggle to your heart’s content and bag yourself a bargain in prime position in the fabulous Spanish eternal summer sunshine!

Seriously guys, it may all be doom and literal gloom in the UK at the moment – but there are better places you could be right now.  And even if you have a full time job in Britain perhaps you could tele-commute!  Think about your options and your alternatives – the good news is, as the European Union is open to us all because we have European passports, we can move to live in Spain unfettered at least until the UK economy improves!
