One Spanish Costa that still provides good value for money is Andalucia’s most eastern province of Almeria. We take a closer look at this relatively new Spanish living expatriate destination.

One thing that you won’t miss seeing on a visit to Costa Almeria is the huge plastic greenhouses that literally cover acre upon acre of agricultural land, this intensive farming method is a stable mate of Eastern Andalucia’s economy and doesn’t always make for the best touristic views in the world, however look beyond the plastic greenhouses and the beauty of Almeria shines through, the home of the original Spaghetti Western could be your perfect dream home in the sun too.

Property prices tend to be a lot more competitive than in the other Costas and developers have already started building high standard urbanisations designed specifically with Northern European tastes in mind. Many of the larger developers and estate agents are offering inspection trips where you’ll get chance to visit sites both completed and in the process of completion or if you’re feeling brave you can buy off plan and simply be shown the field where your dream home will be built!

If you do decide to visit Spain with a view to living there and finding a home, as always take care and never allow yourself to be rushed into signing contracts before you’re 100% comfortable with the decision that you’re making.
