Ikea Opening - Good News for Those Living in Cyprus

Detailed information about the brand new Shacolas Emporium Park and Ikea that are opening in Nicosia September 2007

Ikea Opening - Good News for Those Living in Cyprus Cyprus is a funny country – anyone thinking of living in Cyprus considers the areas such as Protaras and Paphos over and above the capital city of Nicosia time and time again.  This is because Nicosia is not on the sea front (but is a 25 minute drive to the Larnaca coast) and most people haven’t even bothered visiting it because they think there’s nothing much there over and above the central business district, a few banks and Ledra Street.

But let me tell you this, not only is Nicosia one of the best capital cities in Europe because it is compact, safe, clean and packed with bars, restaurants, shops and fun, but Ikea is opening in Nicosia and that’s good news for those living in Cyprus no matter where they are living because they will be offering a delivery service!

Oh, and what’s more, with the opening of the mega Ikea comes the opening of a whole new shopping mall complex in Nicosia called the Shacolas Emporium Park which will add a multiplex cinema, cafes and restaurants, department stores, retail outlets and even a hypermarket to the landscape.

Indeed – as of September 2007 (official opening date as published on the Ikea website) there are a whole host of new reasons to consider living in Cyprus.  Yes, you might be thinking of moving to live in Cyprus to get away from it all, to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life and get back to basics where you enjoy life at a leisurely pace with family and friends, where you dine simply and cheaply at a local taverna and where you watch the Mediterranean Sea from your terrace…

Well, that’s the quality of life you can achieve in Cyprus.  And now, when you get a little bored of sitting and looking at the sea and you need some retail therapy, or you get an urge to escape the rain in the winter in favour of a matinee at the cinema or you decide you want to furnish your villa or apartment or pick out just a few items such as a rug, a lamp and a framed print to make the spare room look better - you can!

With Ikea opening in Nicosia in September and the Shacolas Emporium Park quickly following suit and bringing retail and entertainment delights to the capital city you really can have the very best of both worlds…you can relax in the sun at your villa overlooking the sea in the morning and then drive to the Athalassa suburb of Nicosia and do some shopping, take in a film and dine well in the evening before returning home.

As you can now see, Ikea opening is good news for ALL those living in Cyprus!
