A brand new documentary style television programme is in the planning stages for ITV1 in the UK and the producers are looking for British expats suffering from homesickness, those planning a repatriation or expatriate families torn in two by conflicting desires about where in the world they should live.
The documentary series will take British expats who have lived abroad for a considerable period of time, who seldom ever return to the UK but who are contemplating a move ‘back home’ and it will give them the chance to see what the reality of living back in Blighty would be like. If this sounds like something that appeals to you and is applicable to your circumstances then read on…
The producers of the series wants British expatriates who have been living abroad for a considerable about of time and who have possibly forgotten the reality of life in Britain and yet who are actively planning a return home. The series will give the contributors the chance to see what the old country is now like, what the reality will be in terms of a change in housing, schooling, employment (and weather!) and it will directly compare and contrast with the life that the expats on the show have currently.
The reality TV, documentary style series is being created for ITV1 by a leading UK based media company and this unique idea for a show should prove hugely popular around the world. If you, your family or someone you know is an expat unhappy living abroad or at least back in love with the concept of living in the UK then you could be just who the producers as looking for.
Contributing expats will be taken on a trip of their old haunts and their current haunts and given the chance to decide between repatriation and remaining an expat and the final decision will be filmed as part of the weekly series making for some drama and a few likely dramatic outcomes.
This show could also be perfect for a family divided in two with some members determined to stay put in the sun and others keen to move home closer to friends and family – the show will aim to put a balance of perspective across not just for the viewers but for the contributors too and so could help those trying to find out whether they fit where they are or whether they’ll fit better back in Blighty.
