Buying a Property in Greece‘The Sunday Times Guide to Buying a Property in Greece’ has been written by a man who is not only an expert on the property buying process in Greece, but an expert on the country and its people too.

The author is Mark Dubin brings his experience and understanding of Greece, the Greek people and what it’s really like for a foreigner buying property and living in Greece to this excellent addition to the Sunday Times series of buyer’s guides.

The main appeal of this particular book is the fact that it includes so many case studies with which the reader can really relate and learn from.  It’s all very well reading the cold hard facts about the property buying process in Greece, but one can learn far more from the experiences of others.  ‘The Sunday Times Guide to Buying a Property in Greece’ really manages to bring the whole real estate purchase process to life in a practical sense which assists the reader to prepare fully for their own buying experience.

The author of this particular book has also paid a great deal of attention to the legal side of the buying process because the legal system in Greece differs quite substantially from the British system for example – especially when it comes to conveyancing, title deeds and real estate law.  With the facts about the legal side explained clearly but simply the author then goes on to profile each of the main regions in Greece in which overseas home hunters usually look for their ideal property.  The breakdown of each region assists those who are committed to the country but unsure of which part of Greece is most likely to suit their budget and lifestyle requirements.

And finally, because the author Mark Dubin has such extensive experience of what it’s like to live as a foreigner in Greece he really manages to relate the essential facts about what life as an expatriate is really like to his readership as well which is an added bonus of this particular title in the Sunday Times series.  And for this reason alone his book makes excellent reading for those considering a new life in Greece – whether as a permanent resident or as a regular holiday maker.
