Well it’s been many months in the making and then finally last week came the good news courtesy of the fabulous Cyprus Today newspaper that the Vogue (strike a pose?) Beach Club was open for business!
Them up west have Escape and Camelot - we just had the lovely but slightly neglected Acapulco (Turtle) Beach, which at this time of the year is best left to the turtles otherwise you run the risk of poking your beach umbrella into a nest of eggs and doing untold damage.
So we’ve been driving past the Vogue site for what seems like ages now and were seriously wondering if it was going to come to anything. Oh how excited were we when the news finally came...so we set off yesterday to have a goosey and were really chuffed with what we found.
It’s free for use this season as the owner hasn’t got everything finished and wants people to come and sample what’s on offer ready for next year when he’s hoping to make it a private, members only kinduva sophisticated lovely place. And trust me - you’re going to want to be a member!
There’s a huge car park, a huge swimming pool, a huge Jacuzzi, a huge restaurant, CLEAN toilets and showers - well there’s a novelty. You have a million sunbeds all beautifully laid out in the gardens, by the pool, on the beach and on the pier - all with little umbrellas and comfy cushions. You have friendly waiter service to your sunbed! How sophisticated is that? AND you can just wander down onto the beach and swim out into the Mediterranean! Wehey - and who said life was hard!
I tell you what is hard - dragging myself away from my sunbed to update you guys! It is well cool there and if you need to know where I’ll be for the rest of the summer, now you know - here’s my new address - Rhiannon Williamson, Vogue Beach Club, North Cyprus!
