I like estate agents - in fact - I wanted to be one - once.
So, I’ve decided to set up an ‘adopt your favourite estate agent’ scheme in North Cyprus and I’m looking for volunteers.
I’ve come up with a bit of a tag line for car stickers - something like “estate agents are for life not just for Ramadan” maybe?
The thing is, there are just too many of them about the place, and I’m sure some of them are looking for new homes. It’s the winter after all, the tourists have deserted and I don’t see anyone skipping about with real estate prospectuses under their arms, so what are these poor fellows doing all day?
Personally I’m worried that they’re feeling a bit lost and lonely, so maybe we should give them a place in our hearts?
You know, when someone told me there were over 160 estate agencies in TRNC I wasn’t in the slightest surprised...I mean you’ve only got to drive down any road in or around Girne and you’ll see their offices or signs all over the place.
And the reason all this has come to mind now is because I went to Lemar in Karaoglanoglu today - usually I go to the other one - but Andy needed to visit Burger City (I was being forcibly dragged, just to make that point immediately clear).
So anyway, I spotted ANOTHER one...like we need more!
The thing is I don’t have a problem with them…
Well, okay - I have a BIG problem with ONE of them.
But I won’t mention him as I’m not vindictive - actually I AM vindictive, but revenge is a dish best served cold and I’m still contemplating how best to exact my revenge...sorry, distracted, where was I?
Oh yes.
Most of them are lovely.
So, Andy and I have our two personal favourites and we’re adopting them - but all the others are up for grabs.
Dan and Scott are ours...you’ll find them down the NightJar most weekends and they’re always good for a laugh - I think we’ll enjoy taking them out for walks and things.
So won’t you join me and help save the North Cyprus estate agents from boredom this winter?
